   The list seems to contain both private and govt. engg colleges (not just private collegues).

   Also where is Anna University’s own Guindy College of Engineering in the list?

   Just the measure of passing percentage does not give a good accuracy of the quality of the school. It should be based on a weighted average of input student quality, infrastructure, facilities, reputation, campus placements, curriculum, instructor capabilities.
