புதுமைப்பித்தன் ராயப்பேட்டை நெடுஞ்சாலையில் ஒரு வீட்டில் வாழ்ந்து வந்தார். அவர் வீட்டில் ஒரு சமயம் தவில் நாதஸ்வரம் முதலானவை இருந்தன. அதைப் பார்த்துவிட்டு இவை என்ன என்று கேட்டபோது நாதஸ்வரம் வாசிக்கக் பழகிக் கொள்கிறேன் என்று கூறி, ராஜரத்தினம் பிள்ளை கட்டுரை எழுதும் போது நான் ஏன் நாதஸ்வரம் வாசிக்கக்கூடாது என்று கேட்டு விட்டுச் சிரித்தார்.
திமிரி, பாரி என நாகசுரத்தில் இருவகை உண்டு. பாரி என்னும் கருவியே இன்று பெரு வழக்கத்தில் உள்ளது. இது ஆச்சா மரத்தினால் கடைந்து செய்யப்படும். இதில் செருகப்படும் சீவாளி வழி காற்று ஊதப்படும். கருவியிலுள்ள ஏழு துளைகளில் விரல்களால் இசை பெருக்கப்படும். நாகசுர இசைக்கு ஆதார சுருதி வழங்கும் கருவி ‘ஒத்து’ எனப்படும்.
